On Spec: Farer Lander IV GMT 36mm

Over the last few years, Farer has been killing it with beautiful releases throughout its various models. Last month, we saw the new Farer Moonphase Collection, which blew me away, and now the new 36mm GMT collection. Collectors and enthusiasts are leaning increasingly towards smaller case sizes and form factors, and the new GMT collection hit the nail on the head.

“The 36mm GMT collection condenses Farer’s iconic Lander GMT into a new sleek 36mm case. The original Lander is our most popular model so, for the first time ever, Farer has chosen to keep the same overall design and offer it in three different colour palettes.”

– Farer

Based on Farer’s most popular collection, the Lander GMT, the new 36mm GMT keeps the original design of the Lander but condenses it and offers the watch in three different colours: the original Lander IV (Sea Green), Sea Coast (Spearmint) and Kano (Pink). These watches are among the smallest with a GMT complication, making them quite a rarity.

“There’s the original seagreen Lander IV, the spearmint Sea Coast, and the pink Kano, and each one packs a punch of playful colour. These new watches are some of the smallest automatic GMTs on the market, making them rare sights in horology.”

The GMT collection features a 36mm stainless steel case with an 11mm thickness, 41.2mm lug-to-lug and a lug width of 20mm. While the case is already tight in size, the thickness and lug-to-lug add to the wearability and compactness, creating a watch that, from reading the specs, should sit on the wrist seamlessly. The 20mm leather strap included with the watch adds structure and more comfort in contrast with the smaller case size. The Sellita SW330-2 “Top Grade” automatic calibre is powering the watch and the entire package retails for $1,450USD.

  1. I’ve yet to own a Farer myself, but I’ve heard nothing but praise for their build quality and level of finishing.

  2. Farer is doing things right. They are such a refreshing brand nowadays and really deserve the credit they’ve received
